Hutton CE Primary School has an exciting creative curriculum designed to engage and enthuse all our learners. It is a skills based curriculum which is supported by a wide range of enriching experiences such as residential visits from Year 4 to year 6, carefully chosen day trips and frequent visitors from the community to enhance the curriculum.
Many of the subjects are taught together as they are designed to interrelate to make learning more meaningful for the children and their future lives.
The school utilises ‘Assessment for Learning’ (AfL) - a tool which enables children to evaluate their own learning and to plan with the teacher how they will improve. Different levels of ‘Success criteria’ are agreed at the start of the lesson and children are able to measure their achievements.
