On Wed 10th October 221 pupils from the Hans Price cluster of schools, Ashcombe, Hutton, Worlebury, Bournville, Baytree, Walliscote came together to compete in a cross –country event. The weather was kind to them, being warm and dry although the ground was still wet and muddy from a very wet week. Leaders from Hans Price had been briefed in their role as marshals and were keen to work with the younger pupils.
The girls were the first to go, both excited and anxious as they were lined up ready for the ‘go’. They had to run 2 laps of the course, (approx. 1100m), a tremendous effort by all of them setting the bar high for the boys to compete next. The boys also ran a fast race with one hundred percent effort. All pupils can be praised for running such a good race, setting a good pace and pushing themselves to achieve their very best.
Out of the 6 schools, Hutton performed excellently, and acted as wonderful ambassadors for the school.
Out of 118 girls, Issy Peters (Y4) finished in an outstanding 3rd place, and was awarded with a medal. Additionally, Beth Bryant (Y4) came 4th, Eloise Fairhurst (also Y4) came 12th, and Josephine Taylor (Y3) came in at a brilliant 21st place.
In the boys race, 103 boys competed overall, with Finley Andrews, Daniel Walker & Louis Boon (all Y4) finishing in 17th, 20th and 23rd places respectively. Sid Sheppard-Sugg (Y3) came in in 29th position.
A huge congratulations must go to all those involved! Well done everyone!
