Until my retirement a few years ago I worked at Weston General Hospital in Patient Services and helped to run the General Office. The post was both diverse and challenging, ranging from accounting for all the cash in the hospital to providing an administrative service to the bereaved. My counselling and interpersonal skills were developed and covered colleagues and patients in many areas of patient care.
In 2004 (after 6 years) I fulfilled a long dreamed ambition of obtaining a Batchelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Literature and Language. Then in 2007 I completed a Masters degree in Literature.
I have two children (who both attended Hutton School) and three grandchildren who unfortunately do not live near enough to attend our lovely school! My husband and I are very much ‘hands on Grandparents’.
I was appointed as a Foundation Governor by the Diocese of Bath and Wells just over five years ago. During most of that time I have been Vice-Chair but stood down from this position in September this year. However, I chair the Curriculum and Standards Committee and am the Governor link for literacy, Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding.
