On Science Day, Year 3 made some fantastic ‘bug hotels’. They used their Design and Technology skills to saw bamboo and then placed this into plastic bottles with the tops cut off. We then had great fun searching for good places to leave the ‘hotels’.
We also set up an experiment to see which habitat would be preferred by mini-beasts. We fixed card, transparent plastic, cloth and black sugar paper to the ground at the top of the field. We predict that, in one week, more insects will be found under the black sugar paper because we know they like dark, damp places. Watch this space!
